Too Many Activities in a Day

I was up and about at dawn trying to do everything I can to make my work as fast as possible to meet my desired time schedule. We have to attend my second child’s recognition day and buy something for her blowout to her classmates. I’m a little dizzy from yesterday night’s overtime in blogging because I know I’ll be able to come back home after lunch time. What a busy day for me but I must check first the auto insurance quotes I saw yesterday online because it offers competitive price. My brother needs it for his spare construction car.

I picked up my notebook and listed everything I got to do this day especially the ones which I’ll be doing after the school recognition day. I’ve listed all I’m going to need for our camp meeting; our clothes for packing, my grocery list, my market list and what I’m going to cook for our first day in the camp. The rest of the meals were taken care of so I’ll be preparing breakfast and lunch only. Now I feel better upon seeing my list knowing that I will not forget a thing.

:BM/RT - Super Mashimaro

This is my little boy playing Super Mashimaro, one of his favorite arcade games in Quantum, SM North Edsa while waiting for Daddy to finish his time in the store. We visited hubby on his work inside the mall and we spent our waiting hours in Quantum much to my kids' delight. They love arcades anywhere and it really makes them happy whenever we stopped by and play there. Anyway we only do this occasionally and not on a whim. They always request this after the celebration of their birthdays, after eating in the house or in some fast food we would spend an hour or two there and that would certainly complete their day :-) ------kids....

Happy start of the week! Click on the badge for more blue monday and ruby tuesday pics!

Home and Garden Composters

As a Mom I’ve been very cautious of all waste in the house and it starts in the kitchen where I spent most of my time in the morning. Everyday I have to take care of all the waste food and if I just put in the trash it will just accumulate together with all the kitchen waste of my neighbors. It’s hard to think what will happen to our garbage landfill if all people will have so many trash everyday.

My Auntie tries to limit her trash by burning the leaves in our backyard to bring smoke to our mango tree because it is believed that it would bring out fruits if they do it. It does but the smoke and the smell affects our neighbors next door. I read somewhere that it also affects our environment. I remember my uncle in the province turn these waste into compost and use it as fertilizers to his crops. But that’s the old manual way of doing compost unlike what they have in the market now that with the use of garden composters they can recycle household and yard waste into fertilizer thus bringing the nutrients of food and garden back into the land that produce them in the first place. Join in the eco-friendly process and choose from Outdora’s range of home composters. I find the odor free compost caddy good to use for small household like us.

There are other ways of making organic fertilizer like using the Worm Farms home composters where the compost bin is filled with worms inside. This kind of composting produces compost tea which can also be used as a very good organic plant food. This way we can help our environment maintain an eco-friendly atmosphere because of using all ways of composting waste not only from our food, our garden but also from our pet’s droppings.

Well did you know that even our own waste from our bodies can turn into a good mulch for your plants by using composting toilets? This is a very interesting thing for me as you don’t just help the environment but minimize your water costs as well. It’s good to be aware of our environment because having a clean and safe environment is a plus in maintaining our body’s good health.

I Love Promo Items

When I’m roaming around malls and visiting some display stores I’m so fond of availing or getting some promotional items because I like the nice and cute designs they seem to come up just to promote their products and services. As the Administrative officer in my previous work I was sometimes tasked to arrange such promo items for our company to give to our telecommunication clients. Those items are so much loved by the receiver especially if it’s somewhat techie.

When I contact and make arrangement with the one making the promotional items I was given plenty of design to choose from. I’ve always loved to choose mugs, pens and some pretty gadgets for computer. Just look at these items below and you’ll agree that they’re nice.

Saturday 9: You're My Best Friend

1. Outside of your romantic life, do you currently have a best friend? Yes I have many best friends but I'll be discussing here my best friend for 28 years already. She's JennyL, a blogger who introduced me to blogging and has been my mentor ever since I got into blogging. We were best friends since we're in sophomore years in high school. Since high school we never part our ways.

2. Regarding your future, what is the best thing you could hope for? I'm not the kind who hopes to be rich or popular someday, I just want my kids to grow as a good christian, be good in school and finish college.

3. Have you ever helped out a friend with basic needs, like rent or food? If yes. what did you do? I'm always ready to help a friend in whatever way I can like giving jobs, advices and sometimes money. Mostly I lend them cash but i don't want to discuss this in public.

4. If they re-instituted the draft (for both genders and your were of age) would you go, or would find some way out of it? I think this is not applicable to me so I'll just let this question pass.

5. Tell us one thing you wish you hadn't let yourself do. I wish I hadn't let myself stay long in corporate employment. I should have taken some risks few years back but that's well under the bridge now. I'm happy that late though it may seem I took the risk few months ago to leave my permanent job to concentrate on my family and in writing advertisements on my blogs.

6. Tell us about the last time you bragged. I don't brag much but I did as a joke only, it was a family humor brag and the kids love the joke : -)

7. What area are you wisest in? Area of what? Ok I'm wisest in budget cooking :-) but in other areas as well, i always try to be wise on many things like parenting, baking, writing (because it's my job also), being a mommy and wife.......

8. Tell us about something that happened that at the time made you "full of yourself". When my kids excel in class because of their hard labor in studying. There are more things but I can't write it here as it's going to take long :-)

9. Has there ever been a time that you wanted to try something in the bedroom, but were afraid to ask? no.

Daily Disposable Contact Lens

I’m wearing prescription eyeglasses for decades for my nearsightedness. Since college I was compelled to wear glasses to help me get through my studying. It was hard without eyeglasses because I will not be able to see far objects and the lessons we have on the board. Even if at first I find it uncomfortable I became used to wearing my glasses all day. I even wear them during my sports activities. I’m the athletic type and I have many sports. My eye deficiency didn’t stop me from joining school sports. When I graduated and got a job right after the rites I didn’t switched to contact lenses for many reasons. I’m a super busy person and I find them hard to maintain and contact lenses those days were not as convenient and as comfortable as the ones available now.

My sister introduced me to contact lenses because she really feels that eyeglasses can be awkward sometimes and can make you look older. Well it really depends on the style you choose to wear but with contact lenses it looks naturally nice and with added beauty if you choose the right shade of color. There are many kinds and some are made to last for months and even for a year but my sister chooses disposable contact lenses because she finds it more fitted to her lifestyle. She doesn’t want to use the durable contact lenses that will last for long period of time because she didn’t want to use the same contact lenses everyday for a year. She can also choose different kinds according to her moods.

Now I found that there’s more that contact lenses can offer. Softens offer daily disposable contact lenses which you can wear once and then thrown after use. It’s best for busy people because you don’t have to buy and use solution, no more lens’ cases and no worrying about tear & wear because it will be replaced daily. Everyday is a fresh new day with new pairs to wear. You don’t have to worry about carrying them when you travel because of its very simple packaging and it’s very affordable. Now for those people with allergies it is highly recommended as you replace each contact lens everyday. With all these comfort and convenience it’s really quite something to try.

Thursday Thunks#2

1. I got nothing. What should I ask next week? Although I think Kimber should do it next week. Somehow. Hmmm I can't think either :)

2. Wind chimes - annoying or not? NotI like wind chimes, it sounds brings delight to kids also. We have two babies here who love hearing our wind chimes!

3. Camping - camper or tent? We're always camping out every Holy Week and Christmas season. We used tent to sleep outside our conference hall. It's really exciting on the first time up until now :-)

4. Told ya I got nothing. This really sucks. I should have had Bud do this, huh? Well that really happen sometimes just feeling blank and wordless but I'm not see!

5. What is your favorite letter of the alphabet? I like J and letters with the sounds of J when used like G.

6. So this week my kid had to type a research paper for English.... then she had to email it to her teacher! Is that not just the oddest thing ever? Blew my mind away. Well maybe that's the way they want it done this high tech generation. Classes online are becoming a pad now!

7. Wow. These questions suck. They suck bad. Do you like to suck through straws? For what type of beverages? almost anything except for hot coffee and choco. But I us straw only when I drink outside the house on restaurants perhaps but when I'm home I prefer not to use them.

8. What do you do with your cell phones when you do those wonderful "upgrades" to the newer, fancier phones? I don't upgrade my phones I use it as long as it's good enough fro text messaging and phone calls. My SIL gives out her phones to her siblings, niece and nephews when she visits her homeland-the Phils.

9. It's allergy season - unless you've completely missed all the people walking around with kleenexs stuck to their nose... what are you allergic to? I'm not the type with allergy but I guess too much dust can be so bad on anyone

10. What did you sleep with as a child? pillows and bolsters!

When He Grows Up

We’ve noticed that Josh is growing up healthy and with appetite that makes me smile. When its time for eating he’ll just go to his place and eat. It doesn’t take me a hard time convincing him to eat because he’s the one to eat early so he’ll be early for his service. I just noticed that he’s not making much progress on his height unlike his siblings who grow up faster than anyone. I heard about human growth hormone and been thinking about how effective it is to help increase growth. No I’m not thinking that Josh would take it I’m just interested in this HGH thing and what it offers to the consuming public.

I’m perfectly happy with my little boy’s progress because I know there will come a time that he’ll be growing up fast. Kids have different level of growing phases and for now I will just enjoy Josh while he’s little and always want to be by my side. After several years life would be different and I hope my little boy will still be charming and nice. This is just an ordinary Mom’s thoughts.

Preventing Back Injuries

I was walking with Josh the other morning to buy our supply of fruits when I heard people talking about the back injuries of one pregnant woman. It kept me draw back to my own pregnancy and I never remember having one of those back injuries. What’s keeping me at hold sometimes was the pain in my hips which is but natural in my condition. Well for those who want some tips on posture here are ways on reducing the risk of back injuries.

Good posture is just as important as antenatal exercises in maintaining your overall well-being. Adopting the correct posture during pregnancy is important to reduce the risk of back injuries. On standing up make sure you stand up straight, keep your shoulders back and drop them slightly. Keep your back straight and lift your chest and ribs. Stomach muscles should be tightened and tack your bottom in. Have your feet positioned slightly open. Bend your legs instead of your back when picking up or lifting things. Avoid high-heeled shoes and prolonged standing.

On sitting down you should sit up straight on a chair that will support your back. You can use a pillow to support your back further. When picking up objects squat down, use your leg muscles and keep your back straight.

And last, when getting up roll onto your side and use your arms to help push yourself up. This will help prevent straining your back and abdominal muscles. So for those pregnant Moms out there follow these simple tips to avoid back injuries in the future.
