Benefits of Photography

Photography is one of my passions in life aside from writing and cooking. It excites me to shoot the sky, events, flowers and kids’ faces. My children’s school events would never pass without my best shots and every moment in our family life is always recorded in photos. I may not have the most expensive camera but I always capture the best shots to record our fondest and memorable moments. Memories of our past are best to remember through photos.

Throughout the years its value is priceless and beyond compare that’s why I always see to it that I record every moment so when my kids gets older they’ll have memories of their childhood written in every picture they see. If my photos consists mainly of kids, events and food some other have fascination of other own. I’ve known a friend who practices photography in the forest and takes wildlife camera traps and SLR camera with him whenever he schedule photo shoot in the wilderness. It takes some courage and patience but it’s worth it because if you’ll see his best shots you’ll be amazed at how he captured the best of the wildlife.

Lower Prices of Gadgets in their Country

On my SIL’s visit here last month we talked a lot about gadgets and technology here and in England and how they enjoy fast internet there. She asked about the prices of laptops and tablets here and was surprised at the expensive prices I told her. It’s very evident that they have better pricing on their gadgets and she told me that she’ll just buy my digicam with large zoom capabilities there because the price is way below compared here.

It gave me so much excitement to save money for the camera that I’ve been raving about plus the laptop I want for dear husband. I actually didn’t know one of the brands she talked about but it seems like it’s one of the best in their country so I agreed that if it has the features we need it will be perfect for buying. It made me think that first world countries really has most of the advantages not only in basic necessities but on other good things in life as well.

Anyway SIL and her kids enjoyed their month-long vacation and wished that they’ll be here again next year. As we were chatting in the new terrace with the best selection garage floor tiles her kids were telling us that they don’t want to leave yet. They’re telling their cousins that they enjoyed talking to them even with slight communication barrier and even stayed up until dawn to get the most out of their remaining time.

The next day when they left the house to go to the airport we all felt sad when we saw the look on their faces that they’re not yet ready to return to their home at the other side of the globe. I just wished that they will be able to come back next year.

The New Canon PowerShot A4000IS

Canon has released various new models and though I want their A3300 PowerShot I now prefer their PowerShot A4000IS better 8x Optical zoom which I need for long distance shots. I’ve searched for prices online and glad to find prices as low as $149 but in Canon stores here the price is P10,298 with free 4GB memory card and camera case. Of course I’ve searched through eBay prices but the price is close to that of Canon’s store. Here are some of other features of this digital camera from my favorite camera store.

Camera Effective Pixels – 16MP
LCD Monitor – 3.0 inches
Shutter Speed – 1 – 1/2000sec.
Shooting Modes – Auto, P, Portrait, Live View Control, Face Self-Timer. Fish-eye Effect, Low Light, Toy Camera Effect, Miniature Effect, Super Vivid, Monochrome, Poster Effect, Fireworks, Snow, Long Shutter, Discreet, iFrame movie
Digital Zoom – 4x zoom
Movie Recording Time – Continuous Shooting – approx. 1 hr & 20 mins., Actual Usage – 50mins.

What I like most is the various creative effects like Fish-eye effects, Miniature, Toy Camera and other effects which add fun and enjoyment in shooting while making your photos more artistic and creative. Just shot and choose the effects you want. I know that my daughters will love using it in their basic photography class.

Canon Powershot SX130 IS

I’ve been saving some of my online earnings for this Canon digicam.  This is not the latest one but I really like PowerShot SX130 IS because aside from its 12-megapixel resolution it has what I want most a 12x zoom and 720p HD movie recording features.

If you’re looking for affordable camera with manual controls and zoom powers this is the one that’s right for you.  It has 28mm wide angle for a great capture, 12x super optical zoom (336mm) with Optical Image Stabilizer for steady shots.  Best of all it’s the camera for everyone, for beginners and for serious photographers.  I can say that I’m between the two :)

Now there's an enhanced version of this the Powershot SX150 IS with 14.1MP and 12x zoom.
