Looking Forward to Summer Vacation

One month to go and my kids including my husband will be on summer vacation. I’m really excited because as early as now we’re planning short vacation in MIL’s house in Montalban or a short travel to our Laguna hometown. In our church they’re also talking about an overnight stay in the resort capital of the country and we might rent again a private swimming pool so we can have the place all by ourselves. We have plenty of activities this summer vacation especially after our summer camp meeting in first week of April. The grandest event would be my Mom’s 80th birthday but still we’re thinking if we’ll have it in the house or on resort.

Summer vacation is always fun in the house where we always cook something special or make the usual summer coolers like ice candy, fruit shakes, halo halo and a lot more. Since summer is also hot we’re always eating all of these foodies and drinks outside our house. We spent more time in our garden and terrace in the hot hours of the day because it’s fresher and cooler there. Our compound has many fruit trees in the backyard so when the other places are hot ours is a lot cooler because of the green trees. I’m thinking of adding up some plastic Adirondack chairs for a more relaxing stay in the terrace or backyard garden and I’m looking at online stores now for nice ideas. I have limited budget so I search and compare before I buy. Looking forward to the months of April and May, it’s fun even if it’s hot.

Humble Old Folks

We’ve visited Mom’s relative in her hometown and I’m awed by the simple living the town folks are practicing especially the seniors there. I’ve noticed that no matter how rich they are they still remain modest and low profile unlike some people in the urban areas who acts differently from their status n life. Old rural folks are different from the ones I met here in our town and I’m glad that my relatives in Laguna stay as humble as ever even if their success is very evident in their houses with sprawling plantations.

I would not be surprised if they will include some really nice outdoor gazebos which is so nice to have and maintain in vast outdoor areas with scenic view. With nice gazebo furniture spending lazy afternoon outdoors will be so fun and relaxing especially with swimming pool on the side. Perfect! I would love one for our home also.

Relaxing Outdoors

We’re always having cold nights now that there’s rain every evening. Sometimes I missed those summer nights that you can stay late in the evening out in our backyard garden. Since the kids were on their summer vacation I can sleep late and prepare their food a little later in the morning. Staying outdoor with the family with or without barbecue party has always been a favorite relaxation for me and a great bonding for the whole family as well. We have our own traditional grill but I would love to have those nice outdoor firepit I saw in one of my client’s products.

Now that we can’t stay outdoors very often we just confine ourselves to our terrace which is partly covered by a roof and where we can enjoy the view of our garden. We used to stay there with Mom and Dad where there were pots of roses on one side. Those were memories and I’m glad that after all these years we still have the terrace and our garden even after the widening of the road in our place. We lost half of our front yard and garden three years ago but we managed to revive the other half to a new garden that we presently have.

Patio Furniture

I want to have some renovation in the upper floor of the house in our Master’s Bedroom so we can make our lower ground bedroom into a study or music room. I have so many activities yesterday including a whole day fellowship and sharing services in the church.
