Common Pump Failures For Sewers

In order to keep the septic system working at your home or a business, there needs to be sewage pumps. There could be one or two pumps or several depending on the size of the system. There are some common problems that can arise with the pumps. These issues can be easily resolved by calling a septic company, or you can try to fix the problem on your own by using a few tools.

One of the most common problems that is discovered is a backup in the tank. This happens when the pumps can't work like they should. There is likely too much toilet paper in the system that the pumps can't get through. One solution is to have a septic company come to pump the system out so that there is more room for the water and waste to flow. Another solution is to add a product to the toilet that will get flushed through the system. These products have bacteria in them that will eat away at the debris that is in the tank. Prevention is the best way to prevent septic pump failures. Don't flush solid objects, like toilet paper rolls, down the toilet, and avoid pouring grease down sinks as this can clog the pumps as well.
