Advantages of Hybrid Cars

Due to the rising awareness of environmental problems caused by pollution and the rising cost of fuel, car owners are looking for alternative solutions to save money. Cars are almost a basic need for most families, being a means of transportation to go to work or school.

People are now switching to hybrid cars. It is their choice to be more responsible for the environment. They also know it’s the most practical choice in the long run because it’s economical – it doesn’t run on fuel or gasoline.

Hybrid cars can be electric hybrid ones or water hybrid ones. As the name suggests, electric hybrid cars are those that can both run on gasoline and electricity. Water hybrid vehicles on the other hand are those that can run on hydrogen and gasoline. Water, in this case is not the actual fuel, but the hydrogen extracted from water through electrolysis.

The two advantages you can clearly see when buying hybrid cars are 1) it  saves gas and 2) it is environmentally friendly. But you should also take note that there are tax incentives for hybrid car owners.

Due to world political pressures around the world to reduce greenhouse emissions, President Bush signed an agreement in 2005 to provide huge tax relief to hybrid car buyers. The tax incentive varies by model and are based on two factors

1. How fuel efficient the hybrid car is compared to a conventional car in 2002 with the same weight class.
2. How much gasoline the hybrid car can save in its lifetime compared with an equivalent conventional car
