Saturday 9: Everybody is a Star

1. Did you ever think that you’d be a star? If yes, doing what?

A star to my family, to my kids especially!

2. Tell us about the last time you had a romantic dinner.

a happy dinner with DH.

3. Tell us about your worst job interview.

It's actually funny and worst at the same time, in a famous call center, had an interview for more than an hour, straight and fast.

4. Tell us about your stupidest date.

Not a single stupid date because I didn't let myself (when I was single) go on a date with stupid men! I'm very picky with personality and character.

5. How much in common do you think you should have with a romantic partner?

A lot I think to enjoy being with each other but most of the times opposites really attracts lol!

6. Tell us about a favorite meme that you loved but no longer posts.

I love faces and Heads or Tails (both on my other blogs) but I want to post again

7. How did you get into blogging?

I was inspired and taught by my bestfriend JennyL, she's blogging since 2003.

8. Do you share all your fantasies with a significant other?

A lot but not all

9. What change in your life would you like to happen this year?

Start my own small business.

Employed Again in Project Job

I heard from my former officemate that there are several vacancy positions for project employees. I’m so happy that she got one contract position that will last for about four years. Anyway it’s not as if the rate is that high but for stability purposes that’s good enough for her and she’s perfectly comfortable with the job and assigned branch location.

In getting a job salary is not the only thing that matters though it plays the most important role. For me being happy with what you’re doing is one big bonus aside from having enough salary that would support your family. I’m just glad that my friend is quite stable now because I’m really worried when I left last July. I remembered telling her last year to post her resumes on jobs online so she’ll get a bigger chance of better job opportunity. Well I guess there’s no need for that now as she’s employed already.

Construction Industry Careers

We were having dinner early evening when my 3 kids started asking me where they will be studying in high school and college. I told them that I will enroll them in a Christian school on their secondary education but for their college it depends on what course they want to study. I told them that there are schools that specialize on certain courses in the fields of business, engineering, IT and some other courses though there are many schools that offer all courses. They were so inquisitive about their future studies and I told them to take things in due time.

First I told my little boy to think only of entering primary school then I told my young girls to concentrate on thinking for their high school education. I advised them to feel in their heart what they really want to do after schooling so they can come up with a desired course and then we can look for school that will give them proper education on their chosen field. My Mom just listened to us while we were discussing it and smiled at the innocent questions of my kids. Anyway it’s a healthy discussion and I really enjoyed it.

I remember my last year in high school where we had some professional guest speakers who enlightened us on different careers to take and explained some points on every career that we asked just like in Pennsylvania Construction Career Day where they provide a way for high school students to know career opportunities in the field of construction like highway design, construction and maintenance.

It’s a day for students to know the many facets of construction industry and well paying job openings in that field like Drafting Jobs In Construction PA and other engineering and construction jobs. What greatly interests me is their activities that students can take part in hands, view exhibits and demos, be able to operate construction equipment and the chance to talk to the educators and to school that offer such courses It’s like having an on-the-job exposure of the construction industry.

Lazy Saturday

I felt so lazy today but I know that it’s due to my working habit this whole week. I’ve worked through night hours until dawn for almost 4 days and before the weekends arrive I didn’t sleep at all. I have plenty of online works which were expiring today and I don’t have a choice but to sacrifice my rest. I was able to finish almost all yesterday but I didn’t sleep in the afternoon because I’ve got schedule to meet my former officemates whom I’ve worked with for nearly a decade.

We have so much to catch up and I can’t bear to say no to go over Jhen’s house to meet there. It’s also her birthday celebration yesterday so I left my work and went to Paul & Jhen’s place in San Juan. I really had a good time chatting and laughing with Ate Chit, Jhen, Shiela, Noralyn, Art and Paul (Jhen’s hubby). Ate Chit was so amusing and as always full of funny anecdotes and stories of our times in DSI. I called DH when it’s time for us to go home and met in their branch store where he brought some letters. Today I slept through the whole afternoon and felt very relaxed and rested after a week of too much work. I just feel great now and inspired to work this night again!

Small Business Plans and Preparations

When I resigned from my regular office employment I planned on doing freelance writing and start a business of my own, just a small food shop of meat products and some varieties. But when I started working at home and did several online advertisement works I realized that I can’t start a business right then because my time is full already. I’m afraid that I will not be able to make my business successful because I have a handful of works already and I’m fully occupied.

Starting up a business will require you so much time and effort and I can’t promise that I can spare my time then as online writing became my full time job. I know in my heart that time will come for me to balance my family, work and my dream of putting up my own business. Now I’m preparing some plans for it, allocated some space for my shop, saving money for my capital, inquiring about business license and will soon start a small business checking account so everything will be ready and in order when I finally decide to start my business. It’s best to plan early and ahead of time so I can be prepared for whatever hard work and circumstances that goes with having your own small business. As they say dreaming is free so I’d like to dream more!

A Day with My DSI Friends

Got a chance to spend my friday afternoon with my former colleagues and friends, my officemates in Design Science where I've worked for 10 years before I was transferred by my boss (the same owner) to his telecommunications business. Well I'm so happy to see my dearest friends whom I've worked for almost a decade and whom I've shared endless working nights, sometimes overnights for 3 days doing technical proposal for bidding projects. A day is not enough for us to catch up with the tales of our lives after we transferred to different companies. We're a group of more than 12 and some of us are now living in USA and Canada. Few are working abroad in Asian countries while most of us who were left here in our country have been employed in better jobs.

I'm just too tired now to upload our photos but will do it later.

Handling Your Corporate Events

In my previous employment we always think of some new things to add to our present list of services and products that we could offer to our clients. Company must always come up with new innovations or products that would make us retain our existing clients. Telecommunications is a very demanding line of business because we always have to be updated of the current trends, prices, forex rate, international call rates and every new product and services available to the clients. Every month technology is growing and before you know it there’s new in the market and if you’re not paying attention to latest technology updates you’ll be left out in the field. In view of this we instigate team building, managers’ meetings and product training to cope up with the growing demand of telecommunications industry.

I think it’s good if we had some major corporate events that would tackle several areas of advertising and marketing for the company’s products and services. If only there’s someone who was good enough to handle all that there wouldn’t be a problem. We all know that arranging meeting, conventions, conferences and product launches can be so tiring and exhausting because we want it to be a perfect occasion to remember. It would also help the company if marketing and product launches would be successful. In this kind of situation we could always hire people to do corporate event planning for us so it would be easier to handle events. Hiring a company like Dynamic Event Solutions brings you to the fore of experiencing an awesome event to remember because they provide excellent service and professional management all throughout the event.

Their event solution goes beyond the superb service, catering and staffing because they provide personal attention and dedication with a very affordable price. So if you ever need a company to handle your meetings, conventions, conferences, product launches, consumer events, team building and some other corporate events visit their site and see what they can offer to you.

Crystal Figurines for Gifts & Collections

I’m fond of collecting different figurines when I was still single and I collect ceramics, glass and some other types of figurines. It brings me contentment every time I bought a set or two and displays it in our cabinet. Until now I have some of my collections except for the ones which were accidentally broken. I love looking at them which also brings me to remember the old days when I would go to my favorite store where I get my figurines for affordable price which makes me return for more.

Now I have so many things in mind that I stopped some of my favorite collection hobbies but I was glued to online searching for my favorite things, of course I also want those items with discounts and this cheap crystal figurine I found online caught my attention because of the models they used for their crystals. They used cute characters which are perfect additions for my collections. I particularly liked the Swarovski Kris Bear Flowers design. It cost only $72.00 and it’s perfect also for gifts.

:TC - Messy : Natural Disaster

Thursday Challenge
for fun and learning

"MESSY" (Children, Natural Disasters, Work Areas, Kitchens, Animals, Hair,...)

This is a shot from our veranda on the big flood caused by typhoon Ondoy that badly hit our town. Our town was submerged up to around 5 feet depending on the location or areas. This picture was taken when the flood started to decrease its height after one day of giving us deadly flood. We're lucky to have a two-storey house and we let some affected neighbors who have bungalow or one storey house stay in our place.

One day after the flood stranded people started to come home and check their loved ones and homes including my sister and my husband. It was a saddening moment for those who lost the lives of loved ones and properties. It was MESSY all over the town after the flood subsided. It took days and weeks before the mess was cleared up With God's help we were able to move on and start anew.

Avaya Telephone Systems

I’ve worked for a small telecommunications company for several years and been dealing with carrier settlements, billing & collection until I resigned from the company. Since most of our transactions were via internet and via telephone we always look for quality but affordable electronic components to use in our head office needs. Anyway it’s not a problem with regards to installation and minor adjustments as we have our technical staff to attend to every need of the applicants. Our prime service clients are the call center companies who are in need of affordable calls to US and other countries. We also cater to telecommunication needs of big corporate companies who were able to reach our usage quota.

As I can remember we used to buy phones from major dealers just to avail the discounts they’ve been giving wholesale clients like us. I know some companies also look for inexpensive components for their electronic needs to somehow cut their expenses on purchasing cost just like finding used Avaya merlin legend telephone systems which can be bought at very affordable prices and can also be upgraded to latest version. Avaya systems provide help to small and big corporations by way of reorganizing and making the telephone systems more efficient. Visit primelec.com for their full line of Avaya and other telephone systems.

Tips on Having Beautiful Smile

Having white, healthy teeth will surely bring that bright smile on your face and will make you look younger than you really are. A smile will light up your face and will add some charms on you. I'm glad that I've managed to take good care of my daughters' teeth, read about some tips here to get that beautiful smile:

1) Good dental care begins with regular and right brushing
2) Use a small, soft bristled brush. It works better than the big ones because it gets at all sides of your teeth. Or use an electric tooth brush. These brushes are very effective when used properly and regularly.
3) After brushing you can help yourself to use a water sprayer to clean your teeth
4) Don't forget to floss. Floss gently and thoroughly.
5) Eat about an ounce of aged cheese BEFORE a meal. It will eliminate the acid in the plaque and help prevent tooth decay.
6) Last but not the least,, visit your dentist at least once a year

Now you see that it's so easy to follow the tips above. With proper care of your teeth you can flash that pretty grin on your face.

Clothing for Men

Hubby just had his birthday last week and I was really thinking of my gift for him. He’s not really asking specifically what he wants and if you do ask he’ll just answer that anything can do. But anything is far from my mind as I want to give him a gift that he really needs and will be used often. Of course I want him to remember me always when he’s using my gift. Well aside from seeing some men’s clothing online I did go to my favorite department store and look for some nice upper clothes that would fit him. You know when it comes to clothes hubby doesn’t want very loose shirt or pools because it makes him informal. He wants formal clothes when he’s attending fellowship service that’s why her sister’s package was a sure delight.

Actually I’ve given him a mobile phone on his birthday as his old one had a trouble with lcd but I really want some new men’s outer wear for him to wear when he’s going out somewhere. Weather is very unpredictable these days and it’s good to bring some jacket for protection from cold. I don’t want to him to be cold and sick these days as he has enough hard work in his job. Now for searching for clothes I want for my hubby and kids I was glad that anytime I can go to Shopwiki and do some online shopping.

For the whole family’s needs it’s easier now to choose and buy the things for them like computers, appliances, toys, sport coats and blazers, jewelries, automotive and many more. With this kind of shopping you can buy the things that you want in the convenience of your own home minimizing the pain on the soles on your feet when you search around stores. No need to fall in long lines to pay for your purchases, no need to walk around shops and stores to get your needed items. Most importantly Shopwiki has all the specific sites and stores that sell the clothes that I need. It makes shopping worthwhile and easier!

Click images for a larger view

I picked these photos to show some balance on the water fountains here which is also in balanced with the two kids in front. These are shots from Enchanted Kingdom Amusement Park where we visited last year on Josh' educational tour. The place is really an exciting place for kids and adults as well. I also enjoyed the place and the rides even if I didn't have the guts to ride those super exciting but stomach fluttering rides. I had tons of pictures on that tour!

Camp Meeting at Villa Dominga Forest Resort

This is a late post of our camp meeting last month.

We've arrived at around 8am, a little late for the planned time because DH was trying to be friends with the car we borrowed from my brother lol! Anyway we're so thankful that inspite of our car's inavailability to travel far my big brother offered his pickup vehicle which was just perfect for our tons of baggage. We brought our church' two speakers and projector together with our things and it just fitted right up to the last baggage we have. MIL and SIL rode with us this time and we're so happy to travel together. They used to travel in different vehicle so when we finally made sure that we can bring the pickup car we told them to travel with us. The kids were happier to have Granny and Auntie with us.

The place was beautiful as ever with flowers blooming beautifully and skies so bright. The temperature was so cold that you'll have to wear jackets even if the sun shines so brightly. We've spent the four days with fulfillment in our heart. Second day was spent with communion and feet washing at the end of the afternoon service and everyone held hands and prayed leaving all problems, worries and sickness behind the year that passed and welcoming the incoming year with faith in God that He'll always guide, care and protect us. At the end of the four-day fellowship we let the kids enjoy the cold waters of the resort and traveled the road with wet hair and giggling kids. They just love it!

Jelly Animals

My kids love this jelly animals I made last week on Gen's birthday. I've actually reserved these animal shapes for them as I made all of my gelatin in big molds. These jelly shapes in dove, elephant and fish are a sure delight in my kids' eyes that they love it more than the others which I made with more fillings like raisins and pineapple. Kids really love shapes in any form and any size and these animals attracts their attention. These jellies are super yummy too as I've put milk and eggs on it just like leche flan. How about you, are you fond of eating animal-shaped jellies?

Boys in Water Guns!

Just find these pics cute and rather OA (over acting) lol! Josh was acting as if he's holding a real gun here, he's good at making faces when we're shooting and sometimes it took me ages to arrange my shots because of his many face actions, he's really a handful eh! He doesn't want straight pics or shots that will require him to just smile, to the best that he can do it he'll make faces just to be contented that he did a good pose! Funny boy! He's here with his friend King Jae, JM, Mark and Nathaniel and with the little girls too!

Gen Turned 11!

Gen has turned 11 today and I noticed that she's becoming taller every time I look at her just like her Ate. We didn't invite anyone and just celebrated her birthday with our relatives inside our compound. I'm too weak to entertain people and Gen was happy enough with her guests as we've already celebrated her birthday last Saturday at the mall. She and her siblings Ruth and Josh spent hours of playing in Tom's World and was happy to claim their prizes at last. As always I cooked and bought only their favorites such as spaghetti, hamonado and chocolate cake. I've cooked plenty of lechetin (gelatin with eggs) for dessert and they liked it very much!

Wish for her? A healthy body and mind, happiness and success in every endeavor she makes! I asked God to always guide and protect her!

High School Silver Grand Alumni

We had our High School Silver Grand Alumni last December 19, 2009 and we're all happy to see each other faces. We've grown older and wiser but still the fun easy-going innocence that binded us together when we were in our teens schooling was still there. We greeted each one with excitement and happiness that after all those years that passed we're still almost the same. We still carry the friendship, fun and memorable stories that we had 25 years ago. Jen and me were assigned in the reception& photo booth that we didn't missed a single classmate that attended the reunion-alumni. This time we didn't care about who you were in high school or whose your friends, what section or your status in life. It's just pure gladness that we see each other again and we established friendship and rapport with batchmates that 25 years ago we didn't even greeted, that's the magic of alumni don't you think! Will share photos later as I still have to choose from many pics uploaded by my batchmates.

I'm sharing some of our pics in our camp meeting fellowship because I just find them cute. The little girls' poses are something that we are talking about because they really are fond of picture taking. The boys are so cute here with their neckties made from big neckties but done carefully to look like their own. We forgot to bring their own so we made some out of the ministers' neckties.
